Cutie and the Boxer

Cutie and the Boxer is a film following the lives of Ushio and Noriko Shinohara. Made by Zachary Heinzerling in 2013 it focuses on the 40 year marriage of the two Japanese artists. The key themes being love, relationships and power. A young Art student Noriko falls for Ushio at a young age and the film displays the relationship dynamic between the two.

This is a film that inspired the plan to look at the relationship between one of the couples attending the dance. For me this documentary touches on the keys themes I want to explore within my film come the end of the year.
